There is quite a lot more to do in the Homestead area than many folks realize. We are about 20 miles from Miami to the north and about 10 miles to the Florida Keys to the south.

Hotels

We cannot vouch for any of these as we have never stayed in a hotel in Homestead. If you choose to book your own place and wish to be in or near Homestead, the nearest major intersections to the party are the Turnpike or US1 and 288th Street.

Entertainment

Down here, there is the Redland Tropical Trail. The RTT is a collection of businesses promoting one another. At each location, there is a map to the other locations. You can do as many as you wish as they are all separate. It's not like you're buying a pass and you need to hit them all.

Meals

There is so many good places to eat around here! If you follow Becca on @FourSquare, then you've seen her checking in to all the fab local restaurants. Yes, we do have chain restaurants as well.

Beaches

We are so close to the Keys! Key Largo is 10-15 miles south on US1, depending on where you want to go. Key West takes about 3-3.5 hours to get to heading south on US1 until you reach the very end.

Of course, the Miami beaches and the oh-so-famous South Beach isn't that far either.
